First former Senator Ted Stevens (from the great state of Alaska) referred to the internet as a series of tubes. In addition, the international airport in Anchorage, AK was named after him. Given his advanced years, it's been joked that the airport should have been the 'Ted Stevens Memorial Airport' instead of the 'Ted Stevens International Airport'. Thus one of the appropriate names for the internet is 'The Ted Stevens Memorial Tubes.' Although the Al Gore one isn't bad
